Forestscape, 20th Century, American School Painting, Oil on Canvas Board. This Modernist Movement painting perhaps dates into the 1970s. Strong chartreuse and turquoise dominate with small, pink wildflowers in the foreground. Not surprisingly, it was accomplished on prepared masonite and canvas. Painters of that time were about fast art, valuing instinct and gesture as opposed to overworking a piece, much akin to Pollack. The painting is signed in the lower right, "CB." It was procurred from a fine east coast collection With a little research, it might hang in MOMA. Approximate Dimensions: 17 1/4"W X 14 1/4"H X 1 1/2"D (Overall size of frame)
