CHURCHILL is owned and operated by interior designer Sally Hilkene. For more than 35 years, Ms. Hilkene's work in hundreds of fine homes earned her a distinguished reputation for taste and style.
It has been Ms. Hilkene's goal to open a retail and online store that represents her eclectic style and interests in art, antiques, jewelry and accessories. Thus, the store prides itself on its capacity to deliver an exceptional collection of pieces with wide-ranging appeal to customers from all realms: private collectors, interior designers and everyday consumers with a great eye for quality, and uniqueness.
Ms. Hilkene was named one of Kansas City's ultimate tastemakers as the city's trend spotter and one of the top three interior designers in the city. In 2004, Sally was selected as a member of the Designers Board at Leslie Hindman's Chicago Antiques Fair. Sally was honored as one of the original Fab Over FIfty Independent Boutique owners sponsored by Oil of Olay and Citibank.
Ms. Hilkene also serves on a number of civic boards and organizations, and she is an active member of the Kansas City philanthropic community. A percentage of all CHURCHILL sales are donated to selected charities every month.

A total of 111 stores entered the ninth annual contest that highlights the best examples of independent jewelry retailers in North America.
"Every year we feel privileged to bring our readers the best of the best in our industry," said Ralf Kircher, INSTORE's executive editor. "From its marketing to its merchandising, Churchill easily falls into that category. Everything about the store is like a treasure waiting to be discovered."
Stores are judged in exterior appearance, interior appearance, store biography, advertising, website and overall individuality.
"Wow! When you go into Churchill, you've got to feel like you just walked into a jewelry treasure trove," said Patti David, one of the industry-based judges and co-owner of Zoltan David of Bee Cave, TX, winner of the 2009 Coolest Small Store. "Her eclectic assortment and beautiful ornate surroundings would make you feel like you can't leave until you've seen everything."
